The Delaware County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to maintaining the safety and security of our community through vigilant and proactive law enforcement. Our Patrol Division is the backbone of our operations, employing 12 highly trained deputies committed to serving and protecting the residents of Delaware County.
Field Operations: Our Field Deputies patrol approximately 792 square miles, encompassing rural areas, small towns, and busy highways. Their presence ensures a prompt response to emergencies and routine calls alike, maintaining peace and order across the county.
Criminal and Civil Response: Deputies are equipped to handle a wide range of situations, from criminal incidents to civil disputes. They respond swiftly to reports of crime, domestic disturbances, traffic accidents, and other emergencies, providing immediate assistance and ensuring the safety of all involved.
Protecting Lives and Property: The primary mission of our deputies is to safeguard the lives and property of Delaware County residents. Through regular patrols and community engagement, they work diligently to prevent crime and provide a sense of security.
Warrant Service: Deputies serve arrest warrants issued by the courts, apprehending individuals involved in criminal activities. This critical function helps maintain law and order by ensuring that those who commit crimes are brought to justice.
Civil Process Service: Our deputies also serve civil processes, such as subpoenas, restraining orders, and eviction notices. This ensures that legal proceedings are carried out efficiently and in accordance with the law.
Crime Investigation: In addition to their patrol duties, deputies conduct preliminary investigations into crimes reported within the county. They gather evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with detectives to solve cases and bring offenders to justice.
